A Fast, Mobile WebsiteBuilt to Sell
STYX sells solid gold chains priced from the live market. We built them a fast, mobile-first website made to sell, synced to their inventory system so stock and pricing live in one place, with gold recalculated live.

STYX is built on one promise. Solid gold chains, priced at what the metal is actually worth, not a number invented at the counter.
That promise is hard to keep on a normal store. Gold moves every day, so a price typed into a product page is wrong by the next morning. And for most retailers the website is a separate island from the system they actually run the business on. Stock, prices, and product details get managed in a POS or inventory tool, then re-entered on the site by hand, where they slowly drift out of date.
The brand also had to look the part. Off-the-shelf themes drop every store onto the same handful of layouts, and STYX couldn't sell gold as a serious asset from a template shoppers had seen a hundred times.
A build that solved all of it, live pricing, a real inventory sync, and a fully custom design, used to be a six-figure, enterprise-only project. That math doesn't work for an independent.
The Approach
Strategic Design.
We built STYX on Shopify Hydrogen, Shopify's React framework for fully custom storefronts, hosted on Shopify's global Oxygen network. Hydrogen is why a near-enterprise build is now reasonably priced. Shopify hands us the framework and the hosting and still runs the catalog, checkout, payments, and security underneath. We design every pixel. Shopify carries the infrastructure.
Then we connected the site to the system STYX actually runs on. Inventory, product details, and costs live in one place, sync to Shopify, and flow straight to the storefront. Update a piece once and the site reflects it. The same pipe works with The Edge, another jewelry POS, or a custom system, so a retailer manages one source of truth instead of two.
On top of that sits the pricing engine the brand's promise depends on. The site pulls the live gold spot price on a short interval and recomputes every product from its real weight, karat, labor, and margin. Shoppers see the breakdown in the open: melt value, labor, total. The same logic reprices against vendor and material costs, so margins hold as the market moves.
And because clean product photography is slow and expensive, we generated and AI-edited it, turning rough phone photos into studio-grade shots that hold true scale, weight, and color.
Spot price pulled on a short interval and recomputed into every product's price and melt-value breakdown.
Stock, details, and pricing managed in their own system (The Edge, a POS, or custom) and synced to the site through Shopify.
A custom tool that weighs chains against each other on value per gram, karat, and melt value.
The Solution
Performance & Emotion.
The result is a storefront that looks like a luxury house and runs like a modern web app. Pages load fast and light on Shopify's global network. The design answers to STYX and no template. And the part every owner feels, stock and pricing, stays current without anyone re-keying it or touching a spreadsheet.
For a retailer, that's the real point. The custom, headless build that used to be reserved for enterprise budgets is now in reach, and it does what a standard theme can't: sync to the system you already run, price in real time, and give shoppers tools like side-by-side comparison. Shopify keeps managing the backend, the checkout, and the hosting. You manage your business in one place.
If your website is a second job, disconnected from the system you actually run on, this is what the alternative looks like now.
The Results
